BRAZIL: What to Pack
WHAT TO PACK
Money belt. We loved Ryaco Money Belt. It was thin so it didn’t get too sweaty, and fit stealthily under a shirt.
Waterproof phone pouch. This Hiearcool Waterproof Phone Pouch is perfect for the beach and Iguazu Falls!
Bug spray (and sunscreen!). Ranger Ready Repellents Picaridin Insect Repellent Spray is TSA compliant, and worked great at Iguazu Falls.
Adapter. Brazil uses a Type N plug. This one comes in a set of 11 different adapters, including Brazil.
Portable charger. This one comes in fun colors, is affordable, has built in cords, and wasn’t too bulky. Perfect for taking around with us during the day.
Goodr Sunglasses! These are , block the sun so with polarized lenses, and are usually less than $25. Check out the Swedish Meatball Hangover (yellow), Flamingos On A Booze Cruise (pink), Electric Dinotopia Carnival (light teal), or Vincent's Absinthe Night Terrors (black with green lens). This style universally looks good on everyone!
Compression Packing Cubes. We use these from Bagsmart. They are machine washable (always nice after you bring home all your dirty clothes!), zippers are very durable, and they come in a variety of colors. Large for jackets, sweaters, and trousers, Medium for shirts, and blouses, Small for underwear, drawstring can be used as a laundry bag to separate your dirty/wet clothes or shoes.
Layers depending on where in Brazil you’re heading. It was hot while we were there so shorts, dresses, and t-shirts were ideal. In Rio during Carnival, everyone was in bright, festive colors. But in São Paulo, people seemed to wear more neutral colors.
